Steam Holiday Sale (December 22, 2014)

Prepare to say goodbye to a chunk of your Steam once again for the Daily Deals available today deserve your attention. And of course, your precious, precious wallets.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 – P174.16 (33% off)

“Welcome back to the new and improved Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza! As always, Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for death or dismemberment.”

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH. HAHAHAHA. No. It’s all fun and games until you piss yourself on your computer chair and have to deal with the mess afterwards. I’m not a fan of terrifying myself. I’m not a fan of horror games, but I know as much as I hate them, people also love them. Maybe it ends up being funny to you, or not. Just dear lord keep me away from all the terrifying things please.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – P124.98 (75% off)

“The next chapter in the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls saga arrives from the makers of the 2006 and 2008 Games of the Year, Bethesda Game Studios. Skyrim reimagines and revolutionizes the open-world fantasy epic, bringing to life a complete virtual world open for you to explore any way you choose.”

My thoughts on Skyrim has always been, and will always be the same. I love the setting, I love the music, I love the immersion it gives, and I love how you get sucked into this massive world. That is, until you get into how poor the combat is, especially with magic. And after you have sunk 60hours into the game, you notice nothing’s really changed in the world aside from one or two major quests.

But that’s already after spending 60hours of your time. It’s well worth the money, of course.

Oh and I almost forgot to mention, the books in Skyrim definitely steals the spotlight for me. Nothing like sitting inside a tavern reading your copy of The Argonian Maid while minstrels sing songs of your existence.

Portal 2 – P99.98 (80% off)

“The “Perpetual Testing Initiative” has been expanded to allow you to design co-op puzzles for you and your friends!”

Hi, GLaDOS! I’ve missed you so much! How’ve you been my most precious!? I’ve always been talking about how I am a couch potato and look, here we- I mean you, are! Sentient, and alive!

Okay, I love GLaDOS. I believe she’s one of the most interesting characters to come up in Video Games and I just love everything about her. Oh, about Portal 2 you ask? It’s a wonderful game in it’s own right. I still believe the original is better, but not by much. Yet, the saving grace that puts Portal 2 side by side it’s predecessor in my opinion would have to be Portal 2’s co-op puzzles. Just make sure you and your friend are doing the puzzles for the first time and simultaneously have that sense of achievement. Trust me. Both of you will have a blast!

Shadow Warrior – P99.98 (90% off)

“Shadow Warrior is a bold reimagining of the classic 3D Realms’ shooter from independent developer Flying Wild Hog (Hard Reset) starring the legendary and quick-witted warrior Lo Wang. Combine the brute force of overwhelming firepower with the elegant precision of a katana to annihilate the merciless armies of the shadow realm in an exhilarating and visually stunning transformation of the classic first-person shooter.”

Remember earlier when I said Skyrim had terrible combat? Go ahead and buy this game. Play it. Enjoy it. Revel in the wondrous world of chopping demons to pieces! With guns. And rockets. Explosions. And Sword Skills. Shadow Warrior might just be one of the best, if not the best FPS’s of the 21st century. And it costs next to nothing. It’s been on sale for 90% off twice this year already. And for good reason. Everybody, and I do mean EVERYBODY who says they love FPS’s should experience how brilliant Flying Wild Hog’s masterpiece truly is. A worthwhile reiteration of a classic FPS, and one that should definitely get some heads rolling.

Alien: Isolation – P619.97 (50% off)

“As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.
Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.”

DIDN’T I JUST SAY I DON’T LIKE HORROR GAMES!? But then again, here I am telling you that one of the most, if not the most terrifying horror game that came out this year (just next to PT, but does that really count?) is on sale for HALF-OFF. No. Bad Alien. You are selling yourself half-off just to see my body half-off. No.

But you know what? With all my whining and everything. I will definitely play this game sometime in the future. Why? Because if you like horror games, you definitely need to experience this horrifying game when you get your hands on the Oculus Rift. I know that’s what I’m gonna do just to see how far I’d get before I say, “NOPE! Never doing that again.”

What is up with Steam giving us incredible deals for games that just came out this year!? I guess Christmas really did come early! Merry Christmas all you geeks!
