Geekdom worldwide is celebrating the critically-acclaimed (inasmuch as initial reviews are concerned, anyway) release of Avengers: Infinity War. If you’re the ones who’ve already watched the film, you’d understand if we say our tiny geek hearts could only take in so much. However, in the spirit of our events calendar posts, you know what this next part says: May 2018 events and happenings have just revealed once again why 2018 has just begun after Thanos [REDACTED].
Interestingly enough, the majority of May 2018 events this time aren’t conventions and concerts. More interesting events this month will involve a lot of the geek community. So if you’re itching to interact with fellow fans, below are some events that might be up your alley:
Stem Cells & Mitochondria: Secrets to Total Rejuvenation (May 2)
Head over to the Pan Pacific Manila in Malate for the Second Annual Conference on Integrative Medicine. Speakers from all around the world will talk about not just the mitochondria, but its potential impact on chronic degenerative diseases. Yes, the mitochondria is more than just the powerhouse of the cell.
First Aid CPR with AED } Heartsaver (American Heart Association) (May 2)
Folks from the American Heart Association will go to the Healthcare Advantage Training Institute in Pasig for a hands-on tutorial on First Aid CPR. Attendees may be able to learn not just CPR, but become AHA-certified Heartsavers.
Free Comic Book Day (May 5)
It’s that time of the year, again! Comic book fans will rejoice this first Saturday of May as Fully Booked and Comic Odyssey will once again team up for a big FCBD 2018. Watch out for other local comic stores as they may have a ton of surprises this year for comic lovers.
Action to Aid: A Dungeons & Dragons Epic Event for Charity (May 5)
If you’re a Dungeons and Dragons fan, then head out with your fellow adventurers to kill monsters for a cause. Adventurers Anonymous MNL presents Action to Aid, a charity epic for Childhope Philippines. Adventurers in this Tier 1 Adventure will go to Krpytgarden Forest and unveil the true purpose of the Cult of the Dragon.
Game Night! A mystery to solve in the French Alliance (May 9)
