I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sick of seeing the same old crap on movie posters. Marvel, as much as I love their movies, is guilty of this: photoshopped heads and faces smushed together into one huge, crowded poster. The two Avengers movies are pretty good examples of how bad their posters can get.
That said, I’m pretty amazed at the new Suicide Squad poster. It’s a movie that I probably haven’t given a chance at all, given how I found Jared Leto’s Joker and how totally “15 year old wearing a trenchcoat edgy” the trailer was:
Imagine my surprise, then, when I saw the new Suicide Squad poster and it wasn’t terrible. In fact, it totally bucks the trend I mentioned earlier and actually made me excited for the movie:
Stupid hashtag symbol on the movie title aside, the poster was fresh and pretty much something new in a world of homogenized movie posters. This is actually kind of giving me hope for all the new DC movies, despite how tonally inconsistent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is at the moment.
Oh that’s not all – check out the character posters, too:
