Welcome to #NerdMusicMonday, where we feature some of the greatest geek-inspired music to start your week on the right note. We also review geek-inspired music things that we see floating around the Internet, for better or worse.
We can’t stop raving about Westworld. Who can blame us, really? It’s already a great show, but its sublime soundtrack composed by Ramin Djawadi elevates it even more. I’m sure you’ve already heard the show’s version of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”. Now, here is Westworld’s version with Chris Cornell’s original vocals mixed in.
According to the guy who did the mashup, MAZ Blanko, this version is “a haunting glimpse at a contact between two worlds, just as humans encounter their synthetic mirror-selves androids in HBO’s popular series.”
Listen to it below.
You can check MAZ Blanko out on Twitter, Facebook, and on his website! On top of doing that, though, you should also check out Westworld’s original soundtrack. The entire thing is on Spotify.
Do you make your own geeky tunes? Do you want to be featured on What’s A Geek’s #NerdMusicMonday? Let us know about your music by sending us an email here! We’re also always looking for recommendations if you’ve got any to offer.
