Vice Ganda has just signed a deal to star in his first international show opposite famous drag queen, RuPaul. The series will be shown online through Netflix.
Word is, Vice Ganda will play the role of a Filipino illegal immigrant in New York, working blue-collar jobs and hiding from immigration authorities while RuPaul’s role is still undisclosed, but is said to be the lead role of the show.
What’s A Geek’s sources reveal that the show is supposedly “Fresh Off the Boat” meets “Downton Abbey” with some essence of “Sex and the City”. Vice Ganda is reportedly attending a special workshop for his role here, while he is also scheduled to fly to the States this May for an acting workshop with RuPaul and the rest of the international cast, followed by the shooting for the pilot episode.
Title of the said Netflix series is still undisclosed and the announcement should be out by the end of this year
The show will also be produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment and this will be their first entertainment-partnership with Netflix.
