While we never did get proper closure for Yuuki Makoto (Or Minato Arisato, if you prefer – and The Answer doesn’t count!), and Shiomi Kotone was a one-time thing (even if she did manage to save Shinji), it appears no love has been lost for the two previous guests of The Velvet Room as they leave the seal of Nyx and Erebus behind to compete in the P1-Grand Prix Climax.
In a surprise announcement earlier today, Atlus confirmed that Persona 3/Portable’s Main Characters will be appearing in Japanese arcade machines around scheduled updates in July 2015. Here’s how they could look like in-game:

Yuuki’s title will apparently be “The Noise-Cancelling Seal of Mass Destruction” in reference to his habit of wearing headphones, and his role in sealing Nyx. His battle theme is the P3fes remix of Mass Destruction. He also apparently will not have Orpheus, but Messiah at the onset, and will wield one-handed swords.
Persona 3 Portable’s female main character takes her name from the game’s stage play, and will make her first appearance in the timeline as Shiomi Kotone. Her title will apparently be “The Twenty Second Crimson Paradox”. Said title is apparently in reference to the fact that she is the twenty-second character to appear in Persona 3 Portable, the non-canon aspect of said appearance, and her red eyes/hair. She won’t have Messiah, but a female version of Orpheus Telos as her Persona
Yuuki and Shiomi will be released just in time to celebrate Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3’s original release on the PlayStation 2 in Japan. Both characters will come as free DLC for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions later on in the year, perhaps to coincide with the NA release of the game.
Team Persona is busy working on Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5, but they also teased the possibility of releasing Shinjiro Aragaki as a DLC Announcer (fingers crossed that he also gets to be a fighter) for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.
It’s appropriate that this announcement comes today, so that it’s literally Fools’ Day, because yaaass Yuuki and Shiomi, yaaass.
