Tokyo Game Show 2017: Most Anticipated Games!

Tokyo Game Show 2017: Reality Unlocked

Ladies and Gentle-gamers, this year’s Tokyo Game Show is just around the corner! TGS 2017 is shaping up to be even bigger than last year’s event, with 601 exhibitors, 1930 booths and more on the horizon. eSports and Virtual Reality games are primed to be the themes for TGS 2017. But we, as gamers, know that the highlight of one of the biggest gaming conventions on the continent are the GAMES. So here we’ve collected some of the most significant games from major publishers. TGS 2017 will be open to the public on September 23-24, 2017.

BANDAI NAMCO ENTERTAINMENT

Bandai Namco Entertainment brings a whole slew of games to Tokyo Game Show 2017. Many are anime inspired, both for console and your mobile smartphone.

Fresh off a closed beta, Dragon Ball FighterZ looks to be one of the most anticipated games at the BamCo booth. Perhaps Android 16, Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta will be playable as well. Expect a trailer featuring recently revealed characters Yamcha, Tien, and new character, Android 21. (Thanks, ShonenGamez!) Dragon Ball FighterZ will also be playable in the Sony Interactive Entertainment booth.

Fans of the Dark Souls series can try out Code Vein at the Bandai Namco booth.

Convention goers can experience the upcoming action-RPG at TGS 2017 first-hand. And IGN has a couple of pointers for eager gamers who plan to play in the blasted, post-apocalyptic environment. Code Vein will also be playable in the Sony Interactive Entertainment booth.

Many of Bandai Namco’s long-running game series are going to be playable as well.

Reclaim aerial superiority with blood-pumping dogfights in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown! Create your own ninja and participate in in intense 4-on-4 battles! Recently announced Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet introduces third-person shooter elements, mixing gun and sword play for a new experience. Follow in the footsteps of Boruto’s Dad Naruto in Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker.

Arcade regulars would be familiar with Japanese drum game, Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session, releasing October 26th, 2017! Although there’s no news for an English localization, City Shrouded in Shadow puts gamers in the shoes of a regular citizen during a kaiju (or alien?) invasion. Get a worm’s eye view of Ultraman, Godzilla, and more!

The Nintendo Switch is getting a lot of love from Bandai Namco at TGS 2017. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, One Piece: Unlimited World Red – Deluxe Edition, and more are playable in the Family Game Park Booth.

Expect news from long running franchises such as .hack//G.U. Last RecodeGundam Versus, and many more. There is also a possibility that Tekken 7 may even get another announcement regarding a new character!

And of course, while most smartphone games are Japan-exclusive, a select few might cross the seas like The Idolmaster: Million Live! Theater Days, Mobile Suit Gundam: Sokou Sensen, and Super Robot Wars X-Omega. Follow more on the Bandai Namco Twitch channel.

CAPCOM

Monster Hunter World is one of the major centerpieces of Capcom at Tokyo Game Show 2017. The cornerstone franchise is finally back on a Playstation console with high fidelity graphics and updated gameplay! Developers explore the new living world and games systems. Expect to see new monsters to carve for better armor!

Other Monster Hunter games at TGS 2017 include Monster Hunter Stories Ver. 1.2 Renewal EditionMonster Hunter Frontier Z x Phantasy Star Online 2, and Monster Hunter Explore. Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver. is also going to be presented in the e-Sports X hall. Top teams will battle for who can hunt these gargantuans in a time attack contest.

As Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite will be released by the time TGS 2017 opens, Capcom may just have a new DLC announcement in time for the show. In addition, the Resident Evil franchise keeps on chugging along with news about Resident Evil 7: biohazard – Gold Edition and the “Not A Hero” DLC. Additionally, the two Resident Evil Revelations games will be scaring Nintendo Switch owners soon!

KOEI TECMO

The Warriors games are the primary focus for Koei Tecmo at Tokyo Game Show 2017. Lots of new information for Fire Emblem Warriors are promised, such as new character debuts. Do you have any guesses at who it could be?

Dynasty Warriors 9 is also poised to provide the series a much needed shakeup. The new entry brings open-world gameplay, though it remains to be seen if this can freshen the lengthy series.

Other games slated to be discussed during Koei Tecmo’s broadcasts include Attack on Titan 2, Nioh‘s 3rd DLC “Genna Enbu,” among others. Follow their livestream on Youtube!

SEGA

Sega’s position as a publisher means it has a whole variety of games that it can showcase. Tried and true franchises are playable at TGS 2017, such as Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone DX, Phantasy Star Online 2, the PS2 remake of Yakuza Kiwami 2, and Sonic Forces!

Atlus will feature Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey on the 3DS. 5pb. will bring Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? More information for the cult classic Hokuto Ga Gotoku (or Fist of the North Star) is due at the show as well. A Certain Magical Virtual-On mixes elements of the A Certain Magical series with high-speed mech battle action.
