Discworld Author Terry Pratchett Dead at 66

British writer Sir Terry Pratchett passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the age of 66, from complications due to Alzheimer’s Disease.

Pratchett is most well-known for his 41-volume fantasy novel series Discworld.

Sir Terry Pratchett is survived by his wife Lyn Pratchett, and his daughter, video game writer Rhianna Pratchett.

This writer unfortunately has only cursory knowledge of Discworld but is surrounded here in What’s A Geek by devoted enthusiasts. We at What’s A Geek offer our heartfelt condolences to the Pratchett family.

Rest in peace, Sir Pratchett. Our world may have lost one of its most beloved literary giants, but Discworld will forever live on in our hearts.

And on the Great A’Tuin’s enormous back.
