Star Wars: The Force Awakens character names revealed!

Names for some of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters were finally revealed! Their names were revealed by Disney and Lucasfilm exclusively via Entertainment Weekly.

In a rather creative spin, Lucasfilm revealed the names by using a Topps trading cards style. This was also done for characters and scenes of the original Star Wars movie back in 1977.

Here they are:

John Boyega (Attack the Block) is Finn
Oscar Isaac (A Most Violent Year, Inside Llewyn Davis) as Poe Dameron

Daisy Ridley as Rey

Who is the mysterious Kylo Ren?

Lucasfilm also included trading card style images for the other scenes in The Force Awakens teaser.

Unfortunately, the names for characters played by Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Adam Driver (Girls), Andy Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Frank), and Max von Sydow (The Seventh Seal) weren’t included. Maybe one of them plays Kylo Ren, wielder of the now-infamous crossguard lightsaber? We might find out in the coming months when more trailers and posters are released for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Also starring series veterans Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, and new cast members Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Christina Chong and Miltos Yerolemou, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by J.J. Abrams, will be distributed by Walt Disney Motion Picture and debut in theaters worldwide on December 2015.
