In a surprising turn of events, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crashed the Valentino Women’s Collection Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Fashion Show during Paris Fashion Week as their characters, Derek Zoolander and Hansel respectively, to officially confirm that production will finally happen on Zoolander 2, the much-awaited sequel.
For those in doubt, Paramount Pictures even tweeted the confirmation announcing that the film will hit US theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
ComingSoon.net reports that “Zoolander 2 will shoot in Rome for 12 weeks in and around the famed Cinecittà Studios, with Ben Stiller set to reprise his role as the dimwitted male supermodel. Stiller co-wrote the script with Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder), who will also direct the film.”
The outlet also mentions that some familiar faces will return with Will Ferrell “all-but-confirmed” to reprise his famous role as Mugatu and Christine Taylor returning as Matilda. Penelope Cruz will also join in on the ambiturning fun while Jonah Hill and Cara Delevingne were rumored for parts in the film.
For those curious about the outfits above, Valentino says that Zoolander is wearing “a custom Night Butterflies brocade suit with hand-embroidered overcoat and black Creeper shoes.” while Hansel is wearing “a Silk Continent print Pajama suit with Double Cashmere overcoat and Open sneakers.”
The two supermodels even posed with legendary Vogue Magazine editor-in-chief Anna Wintour on Instagram.
