The SUPER LATE Top 10 Games of 2015

To start this list off, let’s address the elephant in the room: Why is this list so late? Straight-up, the reason it took me so long to write this list is because 2 of the games on this list came out in December, and one of them will probably end-up being one of the longest games I’ve ever played (for one playthrough that is). Also, please remember, this is MY list, it’s my opinion on the 10 games I’ve enjoyed the most over the course of the year. So, don’t expect this list to have all the games you might consider the best of 2015; because again, this list reflects my preferences and opinions. With that out of the way, let’s begin this countdown to my top 10 favorite games of 2015:

10. Tales of Zestiria

So, if you know me personally, you’d know that I am a HUGE fan of the Tales of series. So, it’s not a surprise to see a Tales of game in my Top 10 list of the year. But, why is it so low you may ask? Well it’s because, while the game is still good, it has the weakest combat system the series has had in a LONG time. It feels like it’s taken so many steps back, that Tales of Vesperia (a game from 2008) feels like it has a far more advance battle system. With that said it’s still a great game and the character interactions within the game are some of my favorite in the series. The story isn’t that bad either. OH! and the soundtrack is the best the series has had in a while. So, Tales of Zestiria, gets the number 10 spot of my games of the year list.

9. Undertale

I MIGHT be cheating with listing Undertale in my top 10 list of the year. Why is it cheating? Because I didn’t actually play the game, and rather watched an entire LP of the game. Hear me out though, the fact that I can consider this one of my favorite games of the year WITHOUT ACTUALLY PLAYING THE GAME, says a lot about the quality of Undertale. While I don’t actually have first hand experience with playing the game, I was still able to appreciate the storytelling and commentary that the game provides. As evidenced by what I said in the Tales of Zestiria entry, character interactions (and character development by extension) are quite important to me, and Undertale delivers that in spades. The internet is currently in love with this game and while I agree that the game is good, the over-hyping of the game is goddamn ridiculous; and pretty much misses some of the points that the game is putting forward. With that said, the game is extremely good, AND the soundtrack is amazing (which you get for free when purchasing the game).
