CCA 2018: GMA Announces Knock Out Live Action Boxing-Serye

During the first Comic Con Asia (CCA) held last March 24-25, 2018, GMA’s Creative writing team lead by the well-known Creative Head Ms. Suzette Doctolero (Alyas Robin Hood, Lupin, Daisy Siete) announced that they are planning to do a Live Version of the Anime series, Hajime no Ippo (Knock Out).

Together with the announcement was casting CCA’s own stakeholder and it’s brand ambassador, Senator Manny Pacquiao as the main lead for the Boxing-serye. In the original anime the lead is Ippo Makunouchi, while in the Boxing-serye, Pacquiao will play the role of Epong Makunot a struggling man from the slums and is trained to be a world-class boxer.

CCA’s own event organizer, PSL Entertainment Production and it’s CEO, Ms. Pauline Sofia Laping was also present when they made the announcement. Laping cheered with fellow local anime enthusiasts during the event. In a chat with her after the announcement she was ecstatic about this announcement and with the lessons she learned from this event, she will be bringing more geek enthusiasts on its second year. Like a car show and trade show where all geeks can enjoy more.

Hajime no Ippo (Knock Out), the anime series, was aired on GMA-7 back in 2010.
