Cassandra Cain Returns
The Batman Group of writers have revealed that fan-favorite character Cassandra Cain will be returning to DC continuity in the pages of the new title “Batman & Robin Eternal,” which will launch in October 7 and will be a weekly series running for six months. She will be one of the three main characters, along with Dick Grayson and Harper Row.
Previously, Cassandra Cain appeared in “Batgirl: Futures End” and “Convergence: Batgirl” but this will be the first time she will be appearing in the main DC Universe since the New 52 reboot in 2011.
Cassandra Cain was the first Batgirl to star in her own ongoing Batgirl comic series, and still remains as one of the only heroic Eurasian characters in comics. During the final years of the pre-New 52 reboot, Cassandra Cain had passed on the title of Batgirl to Stephanie Brown, and operated in Hong Kong as Black Bat as one of Bruce Wayne’s operatives under Batman, Incorporated.
“Batman & Robin Eternal” will be lead by Scott Snyder (Batman, American Vampire, Wytches) and James Tynion IV (Batman Eternal, Constantine: The Hellblazer), with Tim Seeley (Grayson, Revival), Genevieve Valentine (Catwoman), Steve Orlando (Midnighter), Ed Brisson (Sheltered), Jackson Lanzing & Colln Kelly (Hacktivist) as additional writers. Among the artists will be Tony Daniel (Batman, Detective Comics), Paul Pelletier (Aquaman), and Scot Eaton (Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man).
