Independence Day 2 cast announced!
In two separate posts on his official Twitter account, Independence Day 1 & 2 director Roland Emmerich has confirmed that Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role from the original and that he will be joined by franchise newcomers Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher.

Industry trade outlet THR also reports that Jessie Usher will play the grown-up son of Will Smith’s character from the original film.
Independence Day 2 is written by Emmerich, Dean Devlin, Carter Blanchard, and James Vanderbilt. The film is scheduled to be released on June 24, 2016.
