Rise of the Tomb Raider jump — Wheeeee~!!

Being 16 hours ahead of California bites hard on your ass when you get gaming news in the middle of the night, because everyone’s awake on that side of the world while you’re in your bed, in the dark, blindly reaching for the snooze button. And this bit of gaming news is the kind that we at What’s A Geek want to wake up for. It seems the timed exclusivity of Square Enix’s Rise of the Tomb Raider has finally ended, as Square Enix’s Press Center unveils the release date for one of the hottest new titles of the season.

According to the press release, Rise of the Tomb Raider will be out for PC on January 28, 2016. The game will be available for Windows 10 and Steam. The press release also notes that the game’s developers, Crystal Dynamics and Nixxes Software, have added numerous features to the game, including glorious 4k video resolution!

In line with this, Tomb Raider’s official Facebook page is also reporting that Steam is now accepting pre-orders for Rise. Pre-order price is at $59.99.

Tomb Raider’s Tumblr blog also posted additional info, including details on the collector’s edition, which will be available on the Square Enix e-store for $149.99.
