‘Hey Arnold’ Mystery Finally Getting Resolved
An ancient mystery has finally hit news, and we are finally getting answers! So back in 2002, as many of us remember, the final episode of Hey Arnold ended and left us all hanging. What gives? We got a scene of Arnold getting a map to the location of his parents, but then it just stops.
Series creator Craig Bartlett recently confirmed on his Instagram account that we are finally getting answers with a second film, entitled Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie! Nickelodeon is also being generous, the film is going to be a two-parter special and picks right where the last episode aired left off. Apparently, back in the 90s (a.k.a. when I was basically barely ten), the network already had the script on hand and had the choice of approving it or not. Well, now that I’m way older than I should be, they finally decide that it is finally a go.
They have a summary for us too:
“A two-part animated TV movie written and executive produced by the series’ original creator Craig Bartlett, will pick up where the original series ended and resolve unanswered questions and plotlines, including Arnold finally getting answers about the whereabouts of his missing parents.”
Allegedly, this is basically the plot from the original script. We are just getting this with fancier animation in glorious 1080p, I guess.
Welp, I guess it is time to look for files of the old series and hope they have copies of the DVD out there somewhere. Wait, did DVDs even exist back in 2002?
Also, guys, this film took fourteen bloody years to actually get green lit. Can you believe it? There’s so much hope in there. More Avatar sequels would be great from Nick, hell, even more Danny Phantom. This is not really too much to ask for right, right? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
